SUMMARY:The Real Book Club: Jazz Standards
LOCATION:Wilkinson Public Library\, 100 W Pacific Ave\, Telluride
DESCRIPTION:Time: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM\n\nJoin us for The Real Book Club\, a
monthly jazz jam session for musicians of all levels who want to dive int
o classic jazz standards together! Whether you're a seasoned improviser o
r just starting out\, this is a welcoming space to play\, practice\, and
connect with fellow jazz enthusiasts.\n\nEach month\, we’ll focus on thre
e jazz standards selected from The Real Book. You’ll receive PDFs of the
tunes in advance so you can shed at home and come ready to jam. Lead shee
ts will also be available on the day of the event.\n\nThe songs we will p
lay at this jam are:\n\nOnce I Loved by Antonio Carlos Jobim. Here is a v
ersion I quite like with Astrud Gilberto singing.\n\nGuantanamera by Jose
Fernandez Diaz. Here is a version I quite like by Joseito Fernandez.\n\n
And of course it wouldn't be fall if we didn't play the classic Autumn Le
 aves.\n\nHere is a Chet Baker version that's pretty legendary\, but I'm p
artial to the Edith Piaf version.\n\nBring your instrument and amplificat
ion (if necessary)\, and your love for jazz. Let’s swing\, comp\, and sol
o our way through the standards.\n\nMore info: https://telluridelibrary.l
