Let's Get Witchy: Make Your Own Yule Log
- Mon, Dec 7
- 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM
- Wilkinson Public Library, 100 W Pacific Ave, Telluride · Directions
Celebrate the season with a little magic, creativity, and the comforting scents of winter! Join Kate Newell of Spirited Earth for a cozy evening exploring the ancient traditions of the Yule log. Rooted in pre-Christian European winter solstice celebrations, Yule logs were traditionally burned to welcome the return of the sun, bring warmth and light to the darkest days of the year, and symbolize renewal and good fortune. We'll put a modern twist on this centuries-old tradition by creating our own decorative Yule logs using natural materials, fragrant evergreens, and seasonal botanicals.
We'll also make holiday simmer pots (stovetop potpourri) using many of the same aromatic ingredients. These fragrant blends can be gently simmered at home to fill your space with the warm, inviting scents of the season. Come learn a little history, connect with nature, and take home two handmade creations to bring warmth and seasonal magic into your home.
This program is free and open to adults, but space is limited! Reserve your spot today at telluridelibrary.org.
